Keith Hirsch’s CD Resource

Thanks very much for checking out my web site. Here I thought I would take an opportunity to tell you a little bit about me. I am, quite obviously, a music collector. I love music and the gear used to reproduce it, but there’s more.

On a professional level, I am a research and development manager in the chemical industry. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Penn State University and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to leading R&D programs in a breadth of chemical disciplines and for a variety of applications and markets, I have held several leadership positions in industrial safety.  My research has resulted in publications in peer-reviewed journals, and I have given lectures at industry conferences.  One of my graduate research publications was featured on the cover of the renown Chemistry — A European Journal in 1997.

I have a number of hobbies and interests in addition to recorded music and audio. These include movies, sports, biking, travel, and taking long walks with my wife.  In my days at Penn State, I was a trumpet player in The Penn State Blue Band. Other commitments prevent me from playing the trumpet as much as I would like, but it is still a source of enjoyment for me.

Otherwise, my wife and I enjoy grilling or eating a good meal out. While we have a few local favorites, we are always trying new restaurants. We also love a good Frappuccino or White Chocolate Mocha Espresso at Starbucks.

I mentioned sports above, and my favorite sport by far is college football. Every fall Saturday is dedicated to watching Penn State. I’m either in front of the TV or at the game. My wife and I attend several Penn State games each year (she’s a Penn State alum, too). You haven’t watched football until you’ve attended a Penn State game in Happy Valley.

Well, that’s it for now. Thanks again for taking the time to visit my web site. Please come back!
